Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher to join the Creative Arts Department at Pendleton Sixth Form in the position of Deputy Head of Department. The successful candidate will lead on curriculum development and delivery, monitor and report on KPI's, whilst promoting high quality standards across our art and design curriculum. In addition, you'll be teaching within the level 2 and 3 art and design team and should have solid experience of planning and delivering level 2 and level 3 art and design curriculum across a range of subject specific areas which could include drawing, printmaking, photography, digital skills development, 3D and textiles for example. It is desirable that applicants have experience of working with industry and other external stakeholders to enhance curriculum, creating opportunities for students to further develop the soft skills necessary for employment as well as raising the departments profile in the Greater Manchester area. We would love to hear from candidates with a proven track record of helping manage curriculum teams including taking the lead on quality assurance and improvement strategies in the context of creative arts delivery. It is expected that candidates have prior experience of delivering vocational qualifications such as BTEC or UAL Extended Diplomas. It would also be desirable for candidates to have experience as a moderator or SV. The successful candidate must have an absolute commitment to standards and delivering an outstanding experience and outcome for learners. You will be committed to excellence in teaching and learning with a demonstrable track record.
