Job description

Mode Search is delighted to be supporting a global luxury fashion and lifestyle group with this search. With a long-established heritage, the company is renowned for its timeless design, craftsmanship, and international presence across multiple product categories, including fashion, accessories, lifestyle, and hospitality.

This role is based in London. The position is full-time, working on-site within the retail store environment.

The Role
  • Oversee the daily operations and performance of a specific department within the store.
  • Drive department sales, ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience at all touchpoints (pre-sale, in-sale, after-sale), building long-term client relationships.
  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge within the department and share this expertise with both customers and the team.
  • Analyse sales and performance data to identify trends and opportunities, presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, including product placement, signage, pricing, and overall store presentation.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the department team, ensuring consistent delivery of outstanding customer service and sales results.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative work culture, resolving team concerns constructively.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including health & safety, HR, loss prevention, and cash management.
  • Support operational needs such as stock management, replenishment, inventory audits, and store coverage.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as reporting, vendor records, and HR documentation.
Requirements
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience motivating and developing diverse teams.
  • Strong background in retail sales and customer service, with the ability to nurture customer loyalty.
  • Previous retail management experience, ideally as a Department Manager or similar role within fashion or luxury retail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with visual merchandising and inventory management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed, commercial decisions.
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with a focus on achieving results.
