Job Summary

Worcestershire Community Dental services is a county wide service seeing patients on a referral basis, our patients have additional needs such as medically compromised, phobia's, special needs, autism, looked after adults and children.

We are looking for a Qualified Dental nurse who is also friendly, reliable, understanding individual who wants to make a difference to the dental care we deliver to our patients.

We cover dentistry in patients homes, hospitals and clinic based.

We offer treatment via sedation local and general anaesthetics.

You will work alongside consultants and specialists and highly experienced dental clinicians, therapists, nurses and receptionists.

In our most recent CQC evaluation the community dental team were rated outstanding for caring.

Responsibilities
  • Your primary responsibility will be to provide clinical support in a wide range of treatments for a broad client base, extended duties would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
  • We would like you to have a welcoming and positive approach for our patients and be an upbeat and reliable member of the team, be able to work well in challenging situations and maintain excellent cross infection.
  • Undertake surgery duties on a daily basis with occasional reception duties associated with the needs of Worcestershire Community Dental Service.
  • Be a key member of the dental team, working with Dentists and Therapists to assist in the smooth organisation of the surgery to give a high standard of care to patients.
  • Work at clinics across Worcestershire.
  • Registered with the General Dental Council and ensure maintenance of this registration.

Qualifications
  • Registered on the GDC
  • Trained and examined to National Certificate level or equivalent
  • Certificate in Sedation nursing (Desirable)
  • Certificate in Radiography (Desirable)
  • Certificate in Oral Health Promotion (Desirable)
  • Certificate in Special Care (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of Salaried Dental Service (Desirable)
Experience
  • Dental chairside assistance in a range of patient care treatments
  • Experience of organising and maintaining a dental surgery including good infection control and decontamination procedures
  • Experience of working in a dental setting including handling cash, booking appointments and sending correspondence to patients
  • Maintenance of CPD portfolio
  • Sedation nursing (Desirable)
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to people at ease
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post
  • Minimum part‑time of 15 hours per week, preferred 30 hours per week
