Job description

The Dementia Care Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the Dementia Community, implementing and embedding the company's dementia care strategy and managing resources within a given budget. They will focus on building caring relationships with residents and families, promoting a culture that enables residents to maximize their capabilities, and supporting the care team in providing meaningful activities for residents with dementia.

Main duties of the job

As a Dementia Care Manager, your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate and person-centered care plans, building relationships with residents and families, working closely with the Activities Team to develop meaningful activities, and promoting a culture that enhances the quality of life for residents with dementia. You must have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role, a comprehensive understanding of CQC standards, and industry-relevant qualifications.

About the role

Your focus as a Dementia Care Manager will be to be responsible for the overall management of the Dementia Community, implementing and embedding the company's dementia care strategy, and managing resources within a given budget.

  • Ensuring that the care plan is accurate and person-centered, reflecting the needs and preferences of residents, and integrated into a comprehensive care plan.
  • Building caring relationships with residents and families, liaising with them sensitively and appropriately, and acting as an advocate for residents' best interests while managing conflicts appropriately.
  • Working closely with the Activities Team to develop meaningful activities for residents with dementia and supporting the care team's participation in these activities.
  • Promoting a culture that maximizes residents' capabilities, independence, and quality of life.

  • Minimum of three years' experience in a similar role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CQC standards and requirements.
  • Industry-relevant qualifications.
