Job summary

A leading logistics company in Warwick is seeking an LGV Driver Trainer to focus on the training of drivers. You will conduct inductions, deliver training programs, and support ongoing driver education in a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years Class 1 (C+E) driving experience and strong communication skills. Position: LGV Driver Trainer (DDA)

Salary: £36,803 based on a 42 hour week

Location: Wellesbourne CV35

Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Day time hours (Flexibility required)

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

  • Carry out, but not limited to, the training of drivers both FTE, approx 40 covering Class 1,2 and vans, & Agency including driving assessments, development indicators, licence checks and highway code test
  • Conduct induction, performing 2 day driver inductions for all new starters
  • Delivering Smith System Initial training to all LGV drivers and company car drivers
  • Organising and booking of drivers CPC periodic training, delivering CPC modules and generating revenue where applicable
  • Supporting tachograph infringements, reviewing and retraining drivers with regards to driver hours infringements
  • Carrying out gatehouse & yard audits, responsible for performing 10% yard/gatehouse exit vehicle and driver checks
  • Microlise training and admin, performing weekly conversations to action improvement areas
  • Carrying out Delivery Safety Orders, prompting safety conversations and identifying training needs
