Job description

The Caring Community of CT supports individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives within a framework of fellowship. We seek caring, compassionate, and hardworking individuals eager to make a positive impact. No experience necessary; we will provide training to the right candidates.

Starting pay: $18.64/hour, with annual increases for the first three years

Community Living Specialists' duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing physical assistance, including wheelchair transfers, use of gait belts/adaptive equipment, and hygiene/toileting support
  • Utilizing Physical/Psychological Management Training (PMT) and other techniques tailored to each individual
  • Medication administration
  • Implementing and documenting treatment and behavior plans
  • Providing positive guidance and encouragement
  • Transporting individuals safely and lawfully
  • Maintaining certifications in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, and other required trainings

Job Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass multi-state DMV and criminal background checks
  • Punctuality, strong time management, and organizational skills
