A local recruitment agency is seeking a Dairy Technician to assist in livestock experiments at AFBI. The role requires working closely with dairy cattle and involves data collection and outdoor work in varying weather. Candidates must have 5 GCSEs including Science, demonstrate experience with dairy cattle, and possess a driving licence. This position offers 37 hours per week at £13.75 per hour, with work on weekends and evenings as needed.

Job role:
Assisting a team of technical staff to undertake livestock experiments. The role will require working closely with livestock, and may involve manual handling of livestock, operating agricultural equipment, weighing out experimental diets, collecting experimental samples (forages, feed, milk, urine, faeces etc), processing samples, and recording data. The latter may involve inputting and checking data on computerised systems and production of summary data reports. The role will involve outdoor work in all weather. The ability to work weekends on a rota basis is essential to the role, as is some early morning working and evening working. The role may involve on-farm work.
