Overview

Formed in 1992, the group delivers a half a billion-pound turnover with a workforce of 4000+ staff and a modern fleet, plant, and equipment. We are the UK's largest end to end drainage solution provider with depots across the UK to ensure round-the-clock coverage for customers and clients.

We are looking for a technically driven Cyber Security Analyst to join our IT Security team. This role will focus on strengthening security operations through vulnerability management, incident monitoring, and the improvement of technical defences across the organisation. The successful candidate will be hands-on with tools and platforms, helping to detect, investigate, and remediate threats while also supporting project teams to ensure security is embedded by design. A UK driving licence is required for occasional travel to regional sites.

Location: Midlands

Salary: £32,000 - £37,000

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexible working options.

Eligibility and travel requirements are part of the role as described.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and review vulnerability scans, prioritising and coordinating remediation.
  • Monitor Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure Security Centre, and endpoint protection tools to detect suspicious activity.
  • Support incident response by investigating alerts, gathering evidence, and escalating where appropriate.
  • Validate and monitor backup processes to ensure resilience and recovery readiness.
  • Assist with patch management and secure configuration across servers, endpoints, and cloud platforms.
  • Provide technical input to IT projects, ensuring controls are integrated at design and build stages.
  • Collaborate with the wider IT team to improve monitoring, detection, and hardening practices.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 2-5 years' experience in IT infrastructure, systems, or network administration.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Qualys, Nessus, Tenable).
  • Exposure to SIEM or log monitoring platforms.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure security features.
  • Working towards security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent.
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Comfortable with both cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Ability to work independently and with technical teams.
  • Interest in continuous learning through labs and simulations (e.g., TryHackMe, Hack The Box).
