Job description
Overview

Our client is currently seeking a diligent Customs Compliance Analyst to join their team in Kent.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective import and export compliance processes in accordance with domestic and foreign trade laws, as well as corporate customs compliance policies and procedures.
  • Implement and support elements of the customs compliance programme, including HTS classification, country of origin, Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility, valuation, export requirements, and forwarding agent management.
  • Review and validate Customs entries for accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide quarterly and yearly reporting, and conduct regular customs compliance training for functional groups.
  • Conduct periodic audits and self-audits, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Assist in trade investigations.
  • Collaborate with business functions, stakeholders, and the Corporate International Trade Compliance office.
  • Drive efforts to create a positive and inclusive work environment and culture across the site.
Qualifications
  • Experience in UK & EU Customs Laws and Regulations, including management of AEO programmes or supply chain is desirable.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), conducting classifications, Preferential Origin qualification, and evaluating customs data.
  • Practical knowledge of UK customs systems (CDS) and experience with customs automation tools.
  • Strong computer skills, including SAP (Global Trade Services GTS) and Office 365; SharePoint experience beneficial.
  • Experience managing relations with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government authorities.
  • Ability to collect, analyse data and prepare concise, timely reports.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Direct experience with International Trade Regulations and/or Compliance in a High Technology, Defence, or Aerospace environment.
