Job description
Customer Team Member

Location: High Street Royston, Barnsley, S71 4RF
Pay: £12.60 per hour
Contract: 21 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent contract, part time
Working pattern: varied shifts including early mornings (6am store opening), afternoons, late evenings (10pm store closing) and weekends, to be discussed at interview. Role will also include working in our in-store bakery

We’re looking for Customer Team Members to join our team at Co‑op. As a Customer Team Member, you’ll be part of a friendly team dedicated to helping our customers. We’ll look to you to provide them with great service on the tills and the shop floor, while also performing a wide range of other tasks around the store like restocking shelves and cleaning spillages.

What you’ll do
  • Friendly and thoughtful service – you’ll put customers first in everything you do: responding to queries, championing Co‑op products and Membership, working in our in‑store bakery and doing all you can to deliver a great shopping experience.
  • Work together to make everyone’s day better – supporting your store colleagues to solve problems for customers and members.
  • Make sure the store is safe and legal – keep the shelves stocked and ensure prices, dates, and temperatures are correct.
  • Help introduce new products and services – make changes feel natural, sharing experiences with your colleagues so everyone learns together.
  • Support your local community – get involved in all kinds of activities and events.
