Overview

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the Support Officer to RNDA Plymouth's Cryptographic Custodian Officer outputs in strict accordance with Joint Service Publication (JSP) Policy and the Controlling Authority.
  • Provide Above SECRET material hub support to the Naval Base including ships and submarines operating out of Devonport or visiting/transiting the Devonport area, in strict accordance with organisational policy and processes.
  • Provide duty out of hours RNDA capability for Cryptographic and Above SECRET.
  • Assist the RNDA Plymouth Cryptographic Custodian to maintain a system for the receipt, safe custody, accounting, issue and destruction of cryptographic material in accordance with current regulations.
  • Assist RNDA Plymouth Above SECRET OIC to maintain a system for the receipt, safe custody, accounting, and issue of Above SECRET material in accordance with current regulations.
  • Be responsible for the administration of Safe Handling Mail (SHM) service to NBC(D) accounts within the RNDA area of responsibility.
  • Receive and send cryptographic material via the Defence Courier Service (DCS) in line with MoD processes and policy.
  • Administration of the Secure Storage Facility for ships, submarines and RFAs entering refit in HMNB(D).

Security & Requirements

Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check and meet security requirements (Developed Vetting). See our vetting charter and baseline personnel security standards. The successful candidate must be willing to attend role-specific training at other Defence establishments and demonstrate teamwork, multi-tasking and the ability to meet deadlines. Must be able to achieve Developed Vetting. Competent in Microsoft Office and IT systems.
