Clearance Requirement: Applicants must undergo a government security investigation and meet eligibility criteria, including U.S. Citizenship, with a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.

License/Certification Requirement: Preferred - Journeyman Electrician License, Journeyman HVAC license, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment in the data center operates at peak efficiency. This includes planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response. The technician reports to a Lead CET and Chief Engineer, interacts with Customer representatives and third-party vendors, and acts as the focal point for facility operations. Data center equipment supporting mission-critical servers must maintain >99.999% uptime.

  1. Understand and operate/isolate: MV/LV Distribution Boards, Breakers, UPS, Generators, Batteries, STS, ATS, AHU, DX units, Chillers, Evaporator Washer Systems, CRAC Units, Fuel Systems, BMS, EPMS, Fire Alarm System.
  2. Familiar with BMS and EPMS systems; interpret alarms, perform controlled shutdowns, startups, and equipment rotations.
  3. Apply safe working practices, including lockout/tagout, SDS, and good housekeeping.
  4. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans, construction documents, OEM instructions, job specs, and SOPs.
  5. Understand refrigeration cycles, diagnose problems, and use manifold gauges, pressure/temperature charts, and temperature devices for maintenance and troubleshooting.
  6. Use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair units, following safety guidelines and logging activities in CMMS.
  7. Conduct daily facility walk-throughs, document parameters, and identify discrepancies and trends.
  8. Understand site-specific procedures for incident reporting, PM standards, CMMS, SharePoint access, and emergency procedures.
  9. Navigate and verify electrical and mechanical infrastructure status via BMS and EPMS, following MOP & SOP.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 6+ years' experience; strong communication skills.
  • Preferred: Journeyman Electrician or HVAC license or equivalent.
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
Abilities
  • Lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds; demonstrate physical strength and stamina.
  • Relocate a 12-foot stepladder unaided.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet, climb scaffolds, lifts, and ladders.
  • Perform routine physical activities, including walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching.
  • Good vision (corrected), color vision, hearing, and communication skills.
  • Recognize problems or potential issues; apply rules to specific problems; synthesize information; see details at close range; understand spoken information.
