Job summary

A community arts organization is seeking a Creative Facilitator based in the West Midlands to lead 12 weekly creative workshops from January to March 2026. Overview

We're looking for a skilled, empathetic, and organised Creative Facilitator based in the West Midlands (within easy commuting distance of Telford) to work closely with participants from January to March 2026, over 12 weekly sessions, to help gather and document their stories which will help shape a new performance piece.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support weekly creative workshops (January–March 2026).
  • Build trust with participants and encourage open, creative sharing.
  • Elicit and record stories (audio and/or notes) during workshops.
  • Collaborate with the writer to ensure stories are accurately and sensitively documented for use in the final script.
  • Work closely with the project team to support participant engagement and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Attributes
  • Has experience in facilitation, participatory arts, community engagement, or similar fields.
  • Is confident working with people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and experiences.
  • Is a strong listener and communicator, able to hold space with care and empathy.
  • Has experience or interest in storytelling, oral histories, or creative documentation.
  • Can work collaboratively within a creative team.
  • Is organised and reliable with excellent note taking or recording skills.
  • Is based in the West Midlands, within easy commuting distance of Telford.
  • Commitment: 1 session per week for 12 weeks, Jan–March 2026.
  • Exact dates/times: To be confirmed, based on participant and creative facilitator availability.
