Job summary

An educational institution in London is seeking a Creative Arts Therapist (Music, Drama, Art Therapy) to work 3 days per week. You will collaborate with other therapists and a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic support to students with severe learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will have an MA in Creative Art Therapy and experience working with individuals with complex needs.

Qualifications

  • MA or equivalent qualification in Creative Art Therapy with UK HCPC Registration.
  • Ideally 2+ years' post-qualification experience in a relevant setting.

Overview

A vacancy has recently arisen for a Creative Arts Therapist (Music, Drama, Art Therapy) to work for 3 days per week at Orchard Hill College. Students follow a personalised programme, supported by specialist personal tutors, therapists and nurses, including work and community-based learning opportunities that reflect student aspirations.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with other Arts Therapists and the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and teaching staff to provide a holistic therapeutic approach to students.
  • Contribute to the integrated, multi-disciplinary team at College, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses, Multi-therapy and Health Care Assistants.
  • Assess new students clinically and manage a caseload of ongoing 1:1 and group work.
  • Work autonomously in this role, with clinical supervision that is either partly or wholly funded by the College.
Qualifications
  • MA or equivalent qualification in a Creative Art Therapy with UK HCPC Registration, and a degree in a relevant field.
  • Ideally 2 years’ post-qualification experience, including experience of working with students who have severe/profound and multiple learning disabilities as well as ASD and behaviours of concern.
