Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Oldham, Rochdale, Bury

Contract: Flexible, part-time

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Dependent on experience

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged in the work provided. You do not need to plan lessons – your focus is delivering the set work and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students stay focused
  • Follow the school's behaviour and safeguarding procedures
  • Report back to the department on lesson progress and any issues
  • Support pupils with accessing the work when needed
  • Build rapport with students and act as a positive role model
What we’re looking for:
  • Experience working with young people (education, youth work, coaching, tutoring, mentoring)
  • Strong communication and confidence leading groups
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different classes and subjects
  • Calm, professional and proactive approach
  • Degree or relevant experience preferred but not essential
