Cover Supervisor

TeacherActive are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor for work in mainstream secondary schools in the Ollerton area, Nottinghamshire, for an immediate start. This Cover Supervisor role is a role that encompasses all year groups from years 7 to 11, up to year 13 in schools that have 6th form sections. The role of Cover Supervisor is a vital and valued role within the school, helping to ensure continuity of provision for students across all age groups.

Overview

The role of Cover Supervisor will be in the Secondary phase and is to manage the children in the classroom and ensure they are working on the tasks set. The lesson plans will be set by the teacher you would be covering and all work will be handed to you by your line manager.

Responsibilities
  • Manage behaviour and support students in the classroom across all year groups (7–13 where applicable).
  • Ensure students are working on the tasks set and follow the lesson plans prepared by the class teacher.
  • Support continuity of provision for pupils when a teacher is absent.
Ideal candidate
  • Experience working with children aged between 3–18 (tutoring, mentoring, 1–1 support, coaching, etc.).
  • Good classroom management skills.
  • Excitement about working with children.
  • Ability to be proactive and get involved.
