Overview

Are you an organised and proactive professional who enjoys supporting students in a classroom setting? GSL Education are seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to manage classes across schools in Dronfield. This role is ideal for someone who can maintain a positive learning environment while ensuring continuity of teaching when the class teacher is absent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain on task.
• Maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
• Support pupils with their learning and behaviour as needed.
• Assist with administrative and classroom tasks.
• Monitor and report on student engagement and progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour and adherence to school rules.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to address any classroom issues.
• Support pupils with individual learning requirements.
• Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and transitions.
• Experience working in UK schools or similar educational settings.
• CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable).
• A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
• Proactive, organised, and reliable approach.
• Relevant qualifications or experience in education (desirable).
• Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
