A leading healthcare provider in Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic individual for Portering Services at the Northern General Hospital. Responsibilities include safely transferring patients, waste removal, and assisting in emergencies. The transfer of patients from all wards and departments, in beds, wheelchairs or stretchers or via internal ambulance (NGH only), ensuring the patient is secure to travel. Move patients with assistance and instruction from professional staff. This includes the occasional movement of patients with valuables under the supervision of the nursing staff. Transfer deceased patients to Mortuary, ensuring all equipment is clean after use. Removal of waste from all departments and wards. Postal duties. Assist with viewing out of hours when requested by Duty Matron. Driving duties plus check and clean vehicles as instructed. Laundry collection/delivery. Sharpmart deliveries/collection. Act under instruction from medical/nursing staff in the event of a cardiac arrest or other emergencies (e.g., Fire Alert).
