Job description
Overview

We are recruiting for a Cover and HR Assistant to join our team. This is a key role responsible for organising effective and efficient coordination of daily staff absences across the three schools within the federation to ensure that high-quality teaching and learning continues with minimal disruption when teachers or other staff are absent. It is crucial for the role that you have excellent organisational skills with critical thinking to look at the most cost effective way of covering lessons across the federation, you will be managing complex daily schedules and working on your own initiative, whilst maintaining up to date records and using the school MIS System Bromcom.

You will work closely with the Business Manager and Senior Leadership Team to ensure HR processes such as recruitment, appraisal and sickness absence are effective and consistent across the Federation. You will also update employee records and prepare paperwork for our payroll provider to strict deadlines and a high level of accuracy.

Excellent literacy and numeracy skills and a meticulous attention to detail will be needed, however tact, diplomacy and tenacity to deal with situations which are sensitive or may result in conflict is equally important.

You will also take responsibility for our administration service across the Seaton Valley Federation. Under the guidance of the Business Manager - HR, Admin and Partnerships you will supervise our team of administration assistants running our busy school main offices, engaging with parents, students, staff and members of the public. The school offices are very busy and you will need to have a flexible and organised approach.

  • Supervise the administration team running the busy school main offices and engage with parents, students, staff and the public.

Hours, Location and Contract

The working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm with a half hour lunch. These times may change from time to time to meet the operational needs of the school.

Band 4, SCP 12 to 17, £26,403 to £28,142. Permanent, 37 hours per week. Full Year or Term Time Plus 20 Days (depending on candidate).
