Job summary

A regional council in Scotland is seeking a Countryside Ranger for a seasonal position at Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park. You'll work in a team to encourage visitor engagement, deliver educational activities, and manage two popular Country Parks. Job description
Countryside Ranger (Seasonal)

Based at Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park in Renfrewshire, you will work as part of a team to encourage appropriate visitor behaviour through the provision of visitor management, outdoor learning and engagement activities primarily at two popular Country Parks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Encourage appropriate visitor behaviour through visitor management.
  • Deliver outdoor learning and engagement activities.
  • Support seasonal operation of two popular Country Parks.

Qualifications:

  • HND in Countryside / Recreation Management / Environmental Science / Biological Science or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience of leading groups or schools and working with health / conservation / environmental groups.
  • Desirable: knowledge of countryside conservation / recreation management and experience of running events.
  • A driving licence is essential.

Job details:

  • Seasonal position working a shift pattern of 5 out of 7 days.
  • Temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 6 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever is earlier.
