Description

Moore Kingston Smith has a clear strategy for further developing its Corporate Finance service offering and team, with a view to raising its profile and becoming one of, if not the pre-eminent Corporate Finance service provider.

Our intention is to grow this team as transaction pipeline continues to build. We have an immediate need for an experienced Transaction Services (Financial DD) specialist to join us as a Manager with a view this individual will grow into a senior member of our transaction services team.

This is a superb career opportunity for an ambitious self-starter. They will be given early responsibility on a variety of transactions, and we would expect them to progress rapidly to more senior positions as they prove their ability, and the team expands further.

They will be expected to participate in Business Development initiatives and will have high level client exposure from the start. They will be working directly with the Partners and Directors, who play a hands-on role within transactions and will be supported by the wider team.

Key Responsibilities

Transactions will be across a wide variety of business sectors and will include vendor, pre-acquisition and pre-investment due diligence, vendor assist, pre-lend reviews, and Reporting Accountant roles on IPOs.
• Take project responsibility for individual due diligence projects, reporting to the project Partner and/or Director, ensuring that transaction timelines are met within budget
• Participate in the confirmation of scope of field work and preparation of fee budgets
• Lead teams to complete analysis and draft an appropriate report for review by the Partner/Director
• Liaise with Moore Kingston Smith personnel in other offices and teams (e.g., tax) to complete the required work on a timely basis
• Liaise with client's other advisers (e.g., lawyers) as required
• Assist the Partner in the presentation of report findings to clients in face-to-face meetings as required

General Admin:
• Preparation of engagement letters
• Assistance with on boarding and KYC procedures
• Setting up client accounts
• Maintenance of Pipeline / Active Transaction / WIP internal reports
• Maintenance of client / transaction files
• Billing
• Assistance with team training and upskilling
• Provide input to improvements of team tools and templates

Business Development:
• Develop and maintain relationships internally and externally
• Assist with implementation of inter-office Corporate Finance network to facilitate inter-office deal sharing and deal knowledge
• Proactive participation in BD initiatives and events, liaising with the central marketing team as required
• Monitor local press to target new business
• Preparation of PowerPoint documents and proposals
• Research of target clients / business sectors
• Participation in initial target client / referrer meetings
• Assistance with the preparation of marketing material
• Follow up of potential opportunities

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
• Previous experience in Transaction Services is required
• Demonstrated experience through a list of assignments completed. In particular the ability to lead transaction services engagements and prepare the necessary due diligence reports
• Strong professional business reporting writing and analytical skills
• Strong project management skills
• Be able to and confident in presenting key findings to stakeholders
• Commercially astute Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA qualified) who ideally trained within audit before specialising in Corporate Finance
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of leading a team and assignments through to completion
