The vacancy

The Commonwealth Secretariat seeks to appoint a Corporate Compliance Manager in our Corporate Business Division. The Division is responsible for a wide range of corporate services including Finance, Procurement, Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, Travel Management, and Events and Protocol Management.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Compliance, the Compliance Manager will design, deliver and monitor adherence to policies, procedures, and controls to ensure that the Secretariat complies with relevant internal and external rules and requirements. The post-holder will monitor mandatory training requirements, co-ordinate and advise on policy compliance across the organisation, monitor progress, produce reports and provide a varied range of support activities to the Director. The post-holder will support and assist the Director of Corporate Compliance in implementing Secretariat strategies and policies particularly in relation to risk, compliance and audit. The position will also provide administrative support to the Audit and Risk Committee.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need a University Degree or equivalent in any discipline, with at least 10 years' experience in general management or senior administrative roles in an international or governmental organisation. You will have at least 5 years' experience of designing, advising and implementing organisational policies and working knowledge of risk registers and experience in embedding enterprise risk management.

Other requirements include a proven track record in advising senior management on adherence to organisational policies; experience of developing and implementing organisational policies and procedures; experience of identifying training needs; experience with internal auditing and reporting procedures and experience with contributing to and providing administrative and governance support to Senior management and committees. A postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in management or professional role is a desirable requirement.
