Job description
Overview

Corporate Accountant (RP0033) – Starting salary £50,696 per annum with potential progression to £53,953 per annum on achieving designated skills and experience; 37 hours per week (hybrid working).

Responsibilities
  • Review and improve existing financial controls.
  • Lead on budget setting, the production of the statement of accounts, and provide financial advice.
  • Coordinate the annual budget setting process, as well as coordinating and contributing to the preparation of the council’s annual statement of accounts.
  • Monitor and improve existing financial processes and controls; complete key government returns and provide advice and support on capital accounting.
  • Interpret and advise on the application of relevant legislation, accounting standards, financial regulations and internal processes and procedures and undertake financial analysis and modelling to support the Council’s decision‑making process.
  • Liaise with and advise officers at all levels across the organisation.
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified or part qualified accountant actively studying towards full qualification.
