About The Role

As maternity cover (for up to 1 year - minimum 6 months) for our Contracts and Waste Services Manager you will be managing the high value external contracts that deliver front line waste, recycling, cleansing and grounds maintenance services on behalf of the Council. You will be leading a team of motivated and passionate professionals to ensure that North Norfolk is a better place to live, work and visit.

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Environmental and Leisure Services you will be responsible for delivering the service plan and ensuring that the Council fulfils its business objectives and statutory responsibilities whilst instilling a culture of change, innovation and challenge across the service managed.

The role will be responsible for delivering the exciting requirements of the "Simpler Recycling" agenda and in particular the roll out of food waste collections, you will be instrumental in leading the project and implementing the service changes required.

About You

This position is well suited to an individual who has experience in waste services and contract management, and is looking for the next step in their career.

The role requires a proactive, customer focused individual with substantial experience and expert professional knowledge and understanding of environmental services and contract management.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong skill set in relation to contract management.

As a clear, articulate communicator who is self aware, you will have experience of dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

In terms of qualifications, you will be educated to degree level. Relevant management experience or a management qualification are important given the nature and range of the role.
