Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment agency seeks a Multi-skilled Engineer contractor in the Perth area of Scotland for an initial 3-6 month contract. Contract Multi‑skilled Engineer

Location: Scotland (Perth area)

Duration: 3‑6 months (initial)

Rate: £38 per hour – Outside IR35

My client, a successful food manufacturer, is seeking a number of Multi‑skilled Engineer contractors to join their engineering team for an initial 3‑6 months. They require both electrical and mechanical bias engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance the performance of plant and equipment (both reactive and planned preventive maintenance)
  • Establish root cause analysis throughout the factory
  • Carry out short and long‑term fixes across all breakdowns
  • Plan and complete all allocated PPMs within the set timeframe
  • Provide a high‑quality engineering service to both engineering and production teams
  • Ensure engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods or procedures to reduce them
  • Train production staff
Ideal Candidate
  • Engineer with a background in the food, FMCG, or manufacturing industry and good experience carrying out PPMs
  • Ideally multiskilled
  • Strong mechanical understanding and appreciation
  • Passion for reliability and improvements – full training offered; required is an interest to develop in the field
  • Experience with CMMS
