Overview

We are seeking a full-time Associate Director for our Manchester transport planning team based in Manchester. We offer a challenging and rewarding career working for a leading consultancy with a strong presence in the North West. You will join a growing team delivering a wide variety of interesting projects for clients in both the private and public sectors. Responsibilities

• Lead work winning through established client contacts and develop a solid workload to support the development of a small team that will support and enhance the existing team in Manchester. This includes project management, technical support, staff management, and mentoring junior team members.
• Manage individual projects, act as the main client contact, and supervise junior staff.
• Demonstrate relevant technical and market knowledge and experience in working on projects for both private and public sectors across the North West.

Qualifications

• Proven project management and business development skills, including proposal writing
• Knowledge of the UK transport planning industry and planning system
• Extensive experience in preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport chapters for Environmental Statements, etc.
• Self-motivated with the ability to undertake tasks with minimal supervision
• Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines
• Excellent presentation and spreadsheet skills
• Experience in delivering technically challenging projects
• Experience liaising with public and private sector clients
• Understanding of current design guides such as Manual for Streets and DMRB
• Knowledge of junction modelling software
• Experience with Public Inquiry and Examination in Public is beneficial
• Degree or Master's in a relevant field (e.g., transport planning, civil engineering, geography). Professional accreditation such as CMILT, TPP, MCIHT, or MICE is desirable.
