Overview

KM226278 – NHS Grampian is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to lead and deliver high-quality care across both Outpatient and Inpatient Adult Eating Disorder services. This newly configured post offers an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role in developing services in response to the Scottish Government’s review and new specification guidance for Eating Disorders services in Scotland. You will work within a well-established multidisciplinary team, providing Psychiatric leadership and clinical input to both the Grampian Eating Disorder Service (GEDS) and the Eden Unit, a regional specialist inpatient facility.

There will be involvement in the training and development of resident doctors and candidates are actively encouraged to become involved in delivering medical education. Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver high-quality care across Outpatient and Inpatient Adult Eating Disorder services.
  • Provide psychiatric leadership and clinical input to the Grampian Eating Disorder Service (GEDS) and the Eden Unit.
  • Support the training and development of resident doctors and participate in medical education delivery.
  • Contribute to the service evolution in response to policy guidance and digitalisation, including hybrid working where workload allows.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise; licence must be in place before starting in post.
  • UK-trained applicants should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
  • Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).
  • Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made. While in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR / CESR (CP) and entry onto the Specialist Register can be made.
