Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine

We have been assigned by one of the UK's most prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant Physician with an interest in Respiratory Medicine on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months.

Our client is one of the UK's largest and busiest teaching Trusts with a turnover of c£1 billion, 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 15,000 staff across South East London. The Trust provides a full range of local and specialist services across its five sites and embraces the vision “Strong Roots, Global Reach” – striving to be bold, brilliant people, outstanding care, leaders in research, innovation and education, diversity, equality and inclusion.

The successful appointee will undertake duties including:

  • Ensuring the delivery of a high‑quality respiratory service
  • Contributing to all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department
  • Covering colleague leave and short‑term sickness periods
  • Clinical supervision of junior medical staff in partnership with other consultant colleagues
  • Carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required, and contributing to Continuing Medical Education and clinical governance initiatives
  • Maintaining outpatient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed by the Divisional management team and contributing to the audit programme
