A leading construction and infrastructure firm is seeking a Construction Manager to join their team in Wanlip, Leicester. This role involves leading safety initiatives, managing resources, and ensuring that construction activities meet quality standards. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in the construction industry, particularly within water utilities. Qualifications

  • Relevant safety qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely and SMSTS.

  • Lead site safety initiatives and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Manage resources including labour, plant, materials, and supply chain.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Team on financials and change control.
  • Ensure quality standards are met in all construction activities.
  • Oversee project progress using Last Planner techniques.

Overview

We're looking for a Construction Manager to join our Severn Trent Water team based in Wanlip.

Location: Wanlip, Leicester
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Responsibilities
  • Leading site safety initiatives and fostering a positive safety culture through meaningful engagement
  • Managing resources efficiently, including labour, plant, materials and supply chain relationships
  • Collaborating with the Commercial Team on financial management and change control
  • Ensuring all construction activities meet quality standards and project specifications
  • Overseeing progress against established timelines using Last Planner techniques
Qualifications
  • You have experience in construction management, particularly within the water or utilities sector
  • You possess relevant safety qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely and SMSTS
  • You're confident in coordinating multiple teams and nurturing collaborative working relationships
  • You have strong communication skills and can build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • You're comfortable working with project management methodologies and Microsoft Office applications
