Job Summary:

This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can accurately estimate costs for construction projects, including materials, labour, and time, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
• Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to create comprehensive estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and clarify project scope.
• Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing.
• Continuously update and refine cost databases and estimating tools to ensure accurate and current pricing.
• Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to the development of project schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
• Monitor project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle to identify any deviations from the original estimate.
• Provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably in large scale construction.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and building codes.
• Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• A valid drivers license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
