Compliance & Sustainability Lead (Part-time) – Permanent / Part-time (Flexible / School friendly hours) – Office Based, Monday - Friday

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established Hertfordshire-based packaging distributor known for its quality, reliability and long-standing relationships with some of the UK's most respected brands.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Own the systems: Manage the company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and lead the implementation of ISO 14001 across the business.
  • Drive change: Identify, lead, and report on sustainability initiatives that benefit the environment, customers, and business.
  • Ensure compliance: Oversee BRC compliance and ensure alignment with all packaging waste regulations.
  • Master the data: Collect, track, and analyse environmental and compliance data—supporting internal audits, regulatory reporting, and customer submissions.
  • Keep things smooth: Submit accurate EPR data, authorise relevant invoices and maintain structured documentation.
  • Be the go-to: Collaborate across departments and liaise with auditors, agencies and key customers to uphold quality and compliance standards.
  • Train and inform: Support awareness and training initiatives to embed best practices in sustainability and compliance.
Who We're Looking For
  • Proven experience managing ISO 9001 and implementing ISO 14001 systems
  • Experience in packaging, logistics, or supply chain environments
  • Strong understanding of UK Packaging Waste Regulations and packaging data reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and proactive
  • Confident managing projects independently and seeing them through to completion
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); familiarity with compliance or quality software is a plus
  • Awareness of sustainability trends and reporting frameworks is desirable
Bonus Points For
  • A degree in Environmental Science, Quality Management, Engineering or similar
  • Lead/Internal Auditor qualification in ISO 9001 or ISO 14001
