As a Sonderwell Complex Care Assistant, you can make a real difference to people’s lives by caring for their complex needs and enabling them to live the life they choose. You’ll join a supportive team that provides all the training and development you need to support your clients, helping you get the most out of this rewarding role.
Your role
Everyone is different. That’s the core of our approach to care. The opportunities vary from taking clients to medical appointments or helping them get up in the morning, to spending a full twelve hours supporting them through their day. You’ll be there to meet their unique needs.
Building a connection with the people you care for is crucial. You’ll also need to handle the physical aspects of care. Experience in the following areas is required:
- Cardiac Syndrome
- NG Tube
- Epilepsy/ VNS management
- Oxygen therapy
- Suctioning
- Administration of medication
If you have patience and flexibility, we’ll support you in providing the personal care they deserve.
Supporting you
Being a Sonderwell carer is about caring and building trust with clients and their families. If you have a caring personality and relevant experience, we offer online and classroom training in complex care needs, as well as opportunities to study for a relevant NVQ.
You may work alone or as part of a team. If you’re available, you could support more than one client.
Before starting, you'll meet your client and their family. You’ll have daily support from a Care Co-ordinator or Nurse Manager, and access to our ‘Carer App’ for insights and information. We provide everything to help you succeed in this fulfilling role.
What we can offer you
We offer full-time or part-time hours, night or day shifts, tailored to your needs. Our benefits package is continually evolving, and if you recommend someone who joins us, you could receive a referral payment. Our employee assistance programme supports your well-being.
We are open to all
We’re committed to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and will provide accommodations for applicants with disabilities where possible.
