Community Care Assistant – Captain's Road Social Work Centre

Salary Scale: £29,173 - £33,287 • Hours: 36 per week

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Community Care Assistant to support our Residential Review Team within our Assessment and Care Management Service. Edinburgh is an exciting city with opportunities to help our citizens flourish.

Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership is transforming how Social Work delivers support to help adults with multiple and complex needs and increasing levels of frailty live as independently as possible. We work with health colleagues and partners to ensure vulnerable residents get the right service at the right time, with a focus on early intervention and preventative supports.

We are seeking Community Care Assistants who are energetic, imaginative, creative and resilient. Trauma-informed, relationship- and strengths-based social work is at the heart of our practice. We adhere to the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013 to provide choices about how support is provided.

This post involves statutory tasks including assessments and support planning, risk assessment and risk management, and Carers assessments. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting adults, families and carers to balance risk and need with choice and rights, and provide advice, support and guidance. You will work in supportive, well-established teams with regular supervision and training.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. An unconditional offer of employment is subject to satisfactory outcomes of these pre-employment checks.
