Overview

Helping to deliver our innovative programme for schools, colleges, community groups, families and young people, we are currently looking for a Communities Curator to be part of our Engagement & Learning team.

John Hansard Gallery is a leading contemporary art gallery. We are part of the University of Southampton and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate the JHG Ambassadors Programme.
  • Help establish the Beacons Programme for entry-level creative employees.
  • Generate new projects with and alongside the community and artists, feeding into fresh approaches to co-creation and socially engaged practices.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a similar role and environment is essential.
  • Good knowledge of engagement and learning within a contemporary art setting.
  • Experience of multi-tasking and outreach work is important.
