Are you looking for a regular shift pattern or flexible work? Would you like to gain experience working on a 1:1 basis?

SupplyGo Education are looking for people who are keen to provide support to individuals – usually students – who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or have communication difficulties.

About the role

We are working with a SEND School in Derby that are actively looking for people with British Sign Language Skills. This working opportunity is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to pursue and kickstart their career within the Education/SEND Sector. Whether you have experience within care, residential backgrounds, coaching, sports work, or community work, we would love to hear from you! Experience is not essential. We just need people who are conversational in British Sign language and willing to learn!

Working patterns available
  • Full time – Monday to Friday
  • Bank/Day to day
  • Part time – Limited availability
  • 08:30am – 15:30pm OR 09:00am – 16:00pm
Age range

On average (3 – 19 years).

Your duties will include
  • Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during lessons, meetings, or activities.
  • Educational Support
  • Promoting Independence
  • Liaising with Staff and Professionals
  • Ensure that the supported individual is safe, included, and respected in all environments.
You will need to have
  • Good British Sign Language Knowledge. A qualification is not a necessity.
  • A valid driving license and Car – This is not a necessity
  • The ability to build positive relationships and understand the individual needs of the children or young adults in your care.
  • The ability to provide varying levels of individual attention, reassurance, and support.
  • A personable, calm, and caring demeanour.
