Job description
Overview

Need someone who is discreet as this is a confidential programme and dealing with sensitive information.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the communications and engagement plan.
  • Use MS packages and remain IT literate throughout the project.
  • Provide project management to the Council to help directorates deliver initiatives, solutions, and improvements that benefit the organisation and city.
  • Follow Council methodologies (based on industry best practice) to support the successful delivery of projects against time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Effectively manage project risks and issues, escalating where appropriate.
  • Manage the dependencies and interfaces between projects to ensure successful delivery in line with strategic objectives.
  • Define programme governance arrangements and ensure effective quality assurance and overall integrity of projects.
  • Present and deliver regular progress updates to governance boards.
  • Deputise for the Programme Manager as required and contribute strategically to the direction, leadership, development and management of the Portfolio.
  • Lead organisation‑wide projects to support the delivery of the organisational strategy and the continued improvement of Council operations.
  • Lead project teams comprising technical and non‑technical members to achieve outcomes and oversee planning, execution and delivery of various projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the quality and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, engaging in technical discussions with suppliers to find solutions and collaborating with cross‑functional internal and external teams and stakeholders to drive project success.
Qualifications
  • Experience in communications and engagement.
  • Previous project management experience and the ability to take control of the plan and hit the ground running.
  • IT literacy, including proficiency with MS Office packages.
  • Familiarity with governance arrangements and the ability to present to governance boards.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder‑management skills.
