Overview

Commercial Gas Engineer | East Anglia & London | Full Time | £50,000–£55,000 per annum

Our client is an engineering company specialising in refrigeration, mechanical services, and steam engineering. They are seeking a qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a field-based role covering sites across East Anglia and London, working on a wide range of commercial and domestic gas systems. They will be responsible for installation, maintenance, servicing, and fault-finding across commercial buildings such as schools, hospitals, office blocks, plant rooms, and more. The role will also involve tasks across other aspects of mechanical engineering, including steam plant and chilled water plant, not solely gas engineering.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer
  • Experience servicing commercial and domestic boilers, gas pipework, boosters, and safety shut-off systems
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Understanding of plantroom systems and mechanical equipment
  • Comfortable using job management software (Simpro) – training can be provided
  • Gas Safe registered (or qualified and eligible to register)
  • Enhanced DBS (company will cover if needed)
Responsibilities
  • Install and connect commercial gas appliances, pipework, valves, meters, and control systems
  • Carry out routine maintenance and servicing of gas systems and appliances
  • Perform safety checks, cleaning, and component testing
  • Diagnose and repair faults in gas systems, responding promptly to reactive breakdowns
  • Conduct inspections in line with legislation, provide Gas Safety Certificates, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Support wider mechanical engineering work, including steam plant and chilled water plant systems
