Overview

Commercial Broker / DA underwriter - Leeds City Centre

Our client is a quality commercial insurance brokerage located in Leeds City centre, a short walk from the station. They currently operate on a 3 days in, 2 days from home basis. They offer an excellent working environment, a strong team culture and a social element.

This role is within one of their commercial teams, handling a range of commercial insurance schemes across specialist sectors. On a daily basis you will speak with clients and insurers, assist the Account Executives in placing new business, make amendments to existing policies and market and negotiate renewals.

Responsibilities
  • Speak with clients and insurers daily to assist Account Executives in placing new business.
  • Make amendments to existing policies and participate in marketing and renewal negotiations.
  • Work with delegated underwriting authority on certain risks, using risk information to calculate premiums and negotiate with insurer partners when risks are referred or do not fit standard schemes.
Qualifications
  • Previous use of Acturis is beneficial; progress towards ACII studies is welcomed and supported. If Acturis has not been used, full system training can be provided.
  • Ambitious candidate with experience with SME clients who is keen to move into mid-market, or an experienced mid-market broker seeking a change of scenery.
