Job Title: College Resource Assistant – Maternity Cover

Location: Nuneaton

Salary: Support Pay Scale P3-P6: £24,759 - £25,558 per annum

Pro rata: £8,761 - £9,044 per annum

Job Type: Part-time, maternity cover, 15 hours per week, term time only (198 days)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Description

We are seeking a committed and people‑focused College Resource Assistant to join a professional services team on a maternity cover basis. This role provides essential administrative and student‑facing support, helping to ensure that staff and students receive an efficient, welcoming and well‑organised service. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and students, offering guidance, information and practical support across a range of college services. The role requires strong organisational skills, clear communication and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a friendly and professional first point of contact for students, parents and visitors, in person, by telephone and via email.
  • Provide accurate information and guidance to students and staff, producing and supporting materials where required.
  • Respond to general student enquiries and signpost to appropriate services, including careers, courses, transport, financial support, wellbeing services, study support and examinations.
  • Support students with the use of technology and digital systems.
  • Provide basic study skills support within student resource areas.
  • Deliver administrative and reprographics support to academic and pastoral staff, including document preparation, collation and filing.
  • Assist with the organisation, maintenance and monitoring of learning resources such as books, journals and audio‑visual materials.
  • Maintain accurate and timely student records and information across relevant departments.
  • Support attendance procedures, including assisting staff with authorised contact processes.
  • Help manage the daily operation of student resource centres, ensuring deadlines and procedures are met.
  • Promote positive behaviour within resource areas and address inappropriate conduct where necessary.
  • Support internal and external mail distribution.
  • Assist with telephone switchboard duties and respond to routine enquiries.
  • Support educational visits administration, examinations processes and enrolment periods at key times of the year.
  • Assist with events such as open evenings, information sessions and parent consultation events.
  • Participate in training to maintain up‑to‑date IT and administrative skills.
