About the Company

NexGen Consultancy LTD is proud to be working on behalf of a long-standing client - a highly respected CNC precision engineering company based in Welwyn Garden City. Specialising in complex components for the aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and defence sectors, our client is expanding their team and looking for a reliable CNC Operator with Turning experience to join their night shift operation.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Operator to join a growing business in a stable, full-time, permanent position. You will be responsible for minding and maintaining CNC turning machines already set and running, ensuring smooth and efficient production overnight.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor CNC turning machines on the night shift
• Maintain machine performance through routine tasks including oil and coolant changes
• Carry out basic tool changes and make minor adjustments as required
• Conduct visual and basic quality inspections of machined parts
• Complete relevant production documentation and logs
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment
• Report any issues or concerns to the night shift supervisor

Requirements

• Proven experience operating CNC turning machines - essential
• Ability to carry out minor maintenance and keep machines running overnight
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Good attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Reliable and flexible approach to work

Working Hours

• Night Shift: Monday to Friday - 10pm - 6am (Hours can be flexible)
• Overtime opportunities available
