CNC Maintenance Engineer • Location: Central England (Field-Based) • Alot of Optional Overtime on Offer • Candidates must be prepared to Travel • Training Opportunities • Salary: £18 - £22 per hour (DOE) + Overtime + Travel Pay • Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm (Overtime Required)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Maintenance Engineer to join a specialist engineering service provider supporting high-level precision engineering firms. This is a field-based role, primarily covering Central England, with occasional overnight stays required.

You will be responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of CNC machine tools across a variety of customer sites. From breakdown repairs to turret realignments or full spindle removals, this is a hands-on, problem-solving role ideal for someone who enjoys getting stuck in and keeping machines running.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and minor electrical issues on CNC machine tools
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing on a wide range of CNC machines
  • Carry out tasks such as turret realignment, spindle extraction, and general machine tool fitting
  • Attend customer sites across the region to respond to breakdowns and service calls
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard with attention to detail and customer satisfaction
  • Complete job reports and communicate effectively with both the internal team and customers
  • Work flexible hours when required to complete jobs, including overtime and occasional overnight stays
About You

We\'re open to a variety of backgrounds for the right candidate. Ideally, you\'ll have experience in CNC machine maintenance or machine tool fitting, but if you\'re a time-served machinist or fitter with strong mechanical knowledge, training can be provided.

Essential:

  • Strong mechanical engineering background
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machines (either operation or maintenance)
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve under pressure

Desirable:

  • Experience in CNC machine maintenance or servicing
  • Machine tool fitting or mechanical breakdown repair experience
  • Knowledge of a range of CNC brands and models
