Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm; Friday, 7:30 am – 12:00 noon

Position: CMM Inspector

Are you an experienced CMM Inspector looking for a new challenge with a leading precision engineering company? We're seeking a skilled professional to join our client's dedicated team in Hertford.

We're looking for someone with a solid background in performing precise inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines within a precision engineering environment, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality. You've likely gained your inspection skills in industries like aerospace, medical devices, or high‑end automotive, where precision and strict standards are crucial. Key Responsibilities
  • Read technical drawings and interpret geometric features/tolerances.
  • Perform CMM inspections using Aberlink software on the CMM machine.
  • Work with various materials including aluminium, steel, castings, cast iron, etc.
  • Operate CMM equipment and manually measure parts using conventional equipment – verniers, micrometres, gauges, callipers, etc.
  • Document quality issues and report non‑conformances.
  • Generate CMM programs to measure components in CNC mode.
  • Compile detailed inspection reports.
  • Comply with safety standards and company policy that apply to the product.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards as set out by the company.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Expert knowledge of FAIRS.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with inspecting a variety of materials (e.g., aluminium, steel, castings).
  • Proven ability to interpret complex technical drawings.
