Job description
Role Overview

Are you a compassionate and motivated clinical leader with a passion for HIV care and improving sexual health outcomes?
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Team Leader (Band 8a) to join our forward-thinking team at the Mortimer Market Centre in Camden.

In this key leadership role you will work closely with the Service Manager and senior clinicians to oversee the daily operational running of the HIV and ISH services — ensuring high standards of clinical care, patient safety, and service performance.

You will provide visible leadership to a skilled multidisciplinary team, supporting staff to deliver evidence-based, person-centred care for people living with HIV and those accessing sexual health services, with a particular focus on GBMSM communities. You will play a central role in developing inclusive, innovative, and responsive care pathways that reflect the needs and experiences of the diverse populations we serve.

We offer a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages professional development, innovation and collaborative working. If you are a dynamic and experienced clinician with proven leadership skills, a strong background in HIV & sexual health, and a passion for advancing equitable, high-quality care — we’d love to hear from you.

CNWL provides Sexual Health and HIV Services across North Central London and in Surrey. As well as clinic-based services, CNWL also delivers community health promotion outreach, a dedicated young people’s service and Learning Disabilities services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist HIV and sexual health care.
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for service planning, performance management, and workforce coordination to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Provide visible, supportive leadership that promotes staff wellbeing, professional development and clinical excellence.
  • Oversee effective financial and resource management in collaboration with the Service Manager.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, care pathways and service improvements that enhance patient experience and outcomes.
  • Support clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit initiatives across the service.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including commissioners, voluntary sector partners and community organisations.
  • Deliver direct clinical care within your scope of practice, including assessment, treatment and health promotion for people living with HIV and those accessing sexual health services.
