Job description
Clinical Specialist – Wellbeing in Mind Team

The Wellbeing in Mind Team are MHSTs who work directly into education. This is in line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people within education settings. Clinical Specialist will provide clinical leadership to the team.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of a whole-school or college approach to wellbeing. This can include, but is not limited to, supporting sites to develop and implement mental health and wellbeing policies, development of resources, supporting campaigns and delivering training, assemblies and PHSE curriculum.
  • Provide timely advice and consultation to education staff. This is designed to support teaching staff to build their skills and confidence in supporting the wellbeing needs of their students/pupils. This is offered in both a formal and informal way.
  • Undertake direct assessments and intervention for young people within education. We offer a low intensity service model, predominantly using cognitive-behavioural therapy.
  • The Clinical Specialist must demonstrate the ability to manage their time, prioritise and manage competing demands, be able to manage relationships and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
  • The post holder will act as a resource and to provide specialist mental health advice, training, guidance, and consultation to staff in educational settings.
Working for our organisation

The post holder will form part of a locality wide leadership team along with Team Managers and Clinical Leads. With support from the existing leadership team, the post holder will take a lead role in the development of clinical services.
