Job description

We are excited to recruit a Senior Clinical Psychologist to support the provision of psychological input across our Children and Young People’s Mental Health (CYPMH) team in South Cumbria, covering teams based in Kendal and Barrow‑in‑Furness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to children, young people and their families within a specialist CAMHS team, including specialist psychological assessment, formulation and psychological therapies.
  • Offer advice and consultation to non‑psychology colleagues and other non‑professional carers.
  • Utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development within the area served by the service.
  • Collaborate closely with senior colleagues to deliver high quality psychological services within your specific geographic area.
Service Offerings
  • Primary and secondary mental health care for children and adults, including specialist inpatient child and adolescent mental health provision, perinatal mental health, and forensic services with low and medium secure care.
  • Specialist mental health inpatient care for individuals with learning disabilities, alongside specialist community support for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism, including intensive support.
  • Extensive community physical health and well‑being services for children and adults, covering prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and long‑term condition management.
