Overview
A well-established regional law firm, recognised in the Legal 500 for its clinical negligence expertise, is seeking a confident and proactive Clinical Negligence Solicitor (3-5 PQE) to join its claimant team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex Multi-Track cases while developing your own caseload.
The Role
The successful candidate will have experience across a wide range of clinical negligence claims, including serious birth, brain, and spinal injuries, as well as delayed cancer treatment and surgical errors. You will work alongside an experienced Partner and be familiar with:
Handling claims across all procedural tracks from inception to conclusion
Funding options (CFA, BTE, ATE insurance)
The Protocol and CPR
Managing medical records and imaging
Instructing experts and counsel
Latest developments relating to fixed costs
You will also support the departments marketing initiatives to enhance the firms reputation and attract new business.
Key Responsibilities
Provide ongoing service to existing clients
Work with Partners and Fee Earners to develop new business
Contribute to the growth and development of the Clinical Negligence Department
Achieve fee income targets and departmental objectives
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of law and practice in clinical negligence
Manage billing, cash flow, and compliance with quality and risk procedures
Person Specification
Qualified Solicitor with 3-5 years PQE in Clinical Negligence
Experience managing your own caseload
Strong planning and organisational skills
Understanding of Money Laundering Regulations and Solicitors Account Rules
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
Marketing and business development skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Proactive, positive, and client-focused attitude
High level of integrity and empathy
Existing client following
