Job summary

A regional healthcare provider in Hove is looking for a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist to deliver rehabilitation services in patients' homes. You will assess and treat complex patients while supporting and mentoring colleagues in a multidisciplinary team. Community Therapy Service B&H: Clinical Lead Physiotherapist

Contract

Fixed term contract or secondment covering maternity leave. Duration 12 months from 23.02.2026 to 19.02.2027. May be shortened if applicant starts later.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver complex clinical care to patients in the community, providing rehabilitation in patients’ own homes.
  • Assess, treat and monitor patients, using specialist clinical assessment and intervention skills for complex patients.
  • Support colleagues with mentoring, coaching, teaching and clinical leadership to meet Trust targets.
  • Provide specialist support to therapy colleagues and work closely with other clinical and operational leads and the wider multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless care for patients in and out of hospital.
  • Travel between bases across Brighton and Hove area to meet clinical and supervisory requirements.
  • Manage staff, supervision and development including shift coordination, allocation of visits and performance development reviews of team members.
Qualifications – Essential
  • Physiotherapy qualification at degree or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Qualifications – Desirable
  • Evidence of leadership education/development or willingness to undertake this
  • Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Experience – Essential
  • Experience working in a community environment
  • Experience teaching/health promotion
  • Experience working in MDTs with all other community services and hospital settings
  • Significant years of experience post graduate
  • Significant experience of supervision provision
  • Excellent clinical skills across wide range of medical conditions
  • Sound clinical reasoning with experience of clinical triaging
Experience – Desirable
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and ability to empower others in practice
  • Experience in capability and performance management, sickness management and familiar with probation tool kits and personal development review
  • Experience in leading audits and projects for service development
  • Experience in chairing meetings with teams
