A major NHS Trust in Greater London is seeking an ODN Clinical Lead to collaborate with various teams for improving healthcare services. This role involves leading clinical innovations, reducing clinical variations, and representing the organization in various health systems. The ideal candidate must possess postgraduate qualifications and significant leadership experience within relevant specialties, and will be responsible for strategic oversight to ensure high-quality patient care.
The ODN Clinical Lead will collaborate and work in partnership with a multi-disciplinary speciality team of clinical and managerial staff across Barts Health in delivering the priorities, goals and objectives of the ODN with the Hospital CEO. The ODN will be responsible for developing and maintaining cross-organisation thinking and collaboration between multi-professional teams across all hospitals where services fall within the ODN’s specialty.
The ODN Clinical Lead will have a key role within the ODN pilot in terms of designing and codifying how ODNs can operate within the Barts Health Group Model. Although the role of the ODN is being developed, it is anticipated that this will include responding to GIRFT, reducing unwarranted variation, responding to national audits for the speciality, overseeing consultant job planning and the specialty operating with a trust wide single PTL.
The ODN Clinical Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the ODN is clinically led and that it is advising on service and population health improvement and the reduction of unwarranted clinical variation.
The ODN Clinical Lead will ensure that all clinical and care professional voices are represented and incorporated into the ODN.
The ODN Clinical Lead will be the speciality lead for Barts Health within the North East London Integrated Care System (NEL ICS), NEL Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) and at regional and national networks as required. They will represent the Barts Health perspective for the specialty.
The ODN Clinical Lead will play an important role in working with hospitals to ensure agreed standards, strategies and plans are communicated and understood

The ODN Clinical Lead will model the attitudes and behaviours of a senior clinical leader, to improve health and reduce health inequalities, and to promote equalities among both staff and patients.
The ODN Clinical Lead role will be ideal for established leaders, working within Orthopaedics / Urology / Gynaecology specialty, who are interested in clinical leadership working across Barts Health.
The ODN Clinical Lead will have a direct reporting line to the Hospital CEO hosting the speciality. They will also be responsible to the Group COO and Group CMO.
Governance of the ODN will be developed as part of the pilot however it is anticipated that this will be through Hospital and Group structures.
