These projects require climate change impact assessment as part of Environmental Impact Assessment. We also provide carbon, climate change and wider ESG advice to corporates, developers and investors throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Work closely with our project teams, guiding current schemes in relation to carbon management and climate change;
  • Undertake greenhouse gas emission assessments to input to Environmental Statements and other planning application documents;
  • Undertake climate change adaptation/resilience assessments for ESs and as standalone reports;
  • Input to carbon management plans for infrastructure projects;
  • Undertake carbon accounting (scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions) for projects, portfolios and corporate operations;
  • Manage and deliver work to programme and budget, reporting into the project lead;
  • Coach and supervise more junior staff;
  • Identify opportunities for growth and assist with our bids for future work;
  • Undertake research to assist with the development of innovative new services;
  • Produce high quality written reports;
  • Prepare thought pieces and blogs within your area of expertise;
  • Assist with internal and external presentations; and
  • Attend site visits and project meetings. To succeed in the role, it is likely that you will:
  • Have a relevant degree at 2:1 or above;
  • Have membership of a relevant professional institution;
  • Have a good knowledge of the planning system;
  • Broad understanding of environmental, social, economic and sustainability issues;
  • Have a strong grasp of the EIA Regulations for the TCPA and DCO regimes;
  • Be experienced in undertaking assessments in accordance with IEMA (now ISEP) guidance on greenhouse gas and climate change resilience and adaptation assessment;
  • Have a strong track record in authoring climate change ES chapters;
  • Be committed to continuing your professional development with a willingness to learn and progress;
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Be personable and professional with high levels of motivation, ambition and drive;
  • Have excellent team-working skills;
  • Be commercially minded and take on personal responsibility;
  • Be committed and have an eye for detail;
  • Have an ability to manage your own time and workload;
  • Be proficient with Microsoft packages; and
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and are willing to travel nationally.
