We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rhondda Cynon Taf to assist with the appointment of a Clerical Assistant, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour PAYE + Holiday Pay

Overview

The Clerical Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the Enquiry & Assessment Team (EAT) within the Children’s Services Business Support Team. This team plays a key role in supporting Social Work staff conducting initial assessments and determining ongoing support for families. The postholder will help ensure that case information is processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with local authority guidance and protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general administrative support including data entry, correspondence, photocopying, filing, and document management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of sensitive information into council databases and systems.
  • Handle routine communications via telephone, email, and post, maintaining a professional and confidential approach.
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and distributing documents.
  • Assist with the tracking and processing of referrals, assessments, and follow-ups.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a clerical or administrative role within a busy office environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in data entry and document handling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in both office and remote settings.
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality and accuracy when dealing with sensitive information.
